Back extensions

Back extensions can be performed whilst laying on the ground or on a fitball for added difficulty.

Lie on your front with legs straight and knees and ankles slightly apart. When using a fitball roll out so that the fitball sits beneath your hips and abdomen, whilst ensuring that your feet are secure on the ground. Contract your core muscles to protect your spine and use your back muscles to raise your upper body off the floor/away from the fitball.

Gently lower back down and repeat 5-10 times.
