CFA Sports & Recreation Association

The Country Fire Authority Sports and Recreation Association Inc. (CFASRA) was formed in 2005 with the intent to provide support to all members of CFA who represent the organisation in sporting and recreational activities.  A member of the CFASRA is any person who is a registered or retired member of the CFA which includes Staff and Volunteers.

The CFASRA has a Committee of Management that consists of interested CFA members who represent the sporting and recreational needs of its members.

The CFASRA's mission statement is:

  1. To manage the CFASRA under the Rules Of Association.
  2. To publicise the aims and objectives of the CFASRA.
  3. Encourage and support all CFA members and clubs to participate in and represent the CFA in sporting and recreational activities.
  4. To promote and report the participation and achievements of CFA members in sporting and recreational activities.
  5. To build and strengthen social communities within sporting and recreational activities.
  6. To support affiliated clubs.
  7. To enhance the public image of the CFA.
Grants and funding

Support from the CFASRA is available to all registered and retired members of the CFA, including staff, volunteers, teams and clubs when representing the organisation in a sporting or recreational event.

Support can be provided in the form of a financial contribution, the use of loan equipment and apparel.

Request for support should be directed to the SRA Committee by downloading and completing the "SRA Grant Application" form.  Completed forms should then be forwarded to the sra@cfa.vic.gov.au and attention to Secretary Brian Neal.

Please make sure the completed form is forwarded to the SRA as soon as possible so there is ample time for the committee to assess the grant application before the event that you are requesting support for.

The CFASRA Committee considers all applications once they have been received on individual merit.

Please note that the conditions of the CFASRA providing support is that any grant recipients are to provide the SRA with:

A written report of the event and any other pertinent details, i.e. results/times, competitor and event accounts,

Photographs of the team/individual before and/or during and/or after the event that clearly shows that they are participating as a CFA team/member, i.e. wearing of CFASRA sports clothing etc

Note: Any photographs provided can be used as promotional advertisement and may be published on the internet.  Permission from individuals should be obtained before forwarding any material.  Verbal permission is acceptable, unless there are children involved (under 16) in which case written consent is needed from a parent/guardian.

Failure to meet any of the above conditions may result in the grant recipients being excluded from receiving any further support.

Loan Equipment

The CFASRA has acquired equipment that is available on loan to CFA teams/clubs to help support their involvement in sporting and recreational events.

The following equipment is currently available for loan:

-          CFASRA Shade Tent (3mx3m)

-          2 sets of netball bibs

The SRA is looking to expand our equipment portfolio in the future and will list all the extra loan items when they are available.

All the loan equipment is stored at the CFA Central Store, Unit 2, 6 Samantha court, Knoxfield.  Opening times are 7am - 4pm Mon-Fri.

All equipment can be picked up/dropped off in person or it can be couriered to most locations.  If there is no CFA truck going to the designated drop off/pick up location there may be a small fee, payable by the person requesting the use of the equipment, if a private courier is needed to deliver the item(s).

Loan equipment can be requested by downloading and completing the "SRA Loan Equipment Booking Form".  Completed forms should then be forwarded to the sra@cfa.vic.gov.au and attention David Gorman.

When requesting the use of loan equipment please forward the booking form as early as possible to allow for adequate time for pick up and drop off.
