Victoria Police & Emergency Services Games
Each year, CFA and VICSES participate in the Victoria Police and Emergency Services Games, a friendly competition to encourage camaraderie across agencies.
The Games background
The Victoria Police Games were first conducted in 1981 when approximately 500 competitors contested 7 different sports. The Games have been held every year since with the exception of 1995, when the Victoria Police Games were suspended in deference to the 1995 World Police and Fire Games; in 2000 in deference to the 1999 Australia and New Zealand Police Games.
In 2002 the Games became known as the Victoria Police and Emergency Services Games. In 2014 they were suspended again in deference to the 2014 Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games, held in Melbourne.
