Treadmill how to:

  • To turn the treadmill on or off use the switch at the front. Ensure that the treadmill is left off when no one is using it.
  • The treadmill must be correctly mounted and dismounted. Do not dismount the treadmill while the belt is moving.
  • To increase the lifespan of the treadmill motor, begin with feet standing either side of the belt, and only step on once the belt has begun to move. Ensure you are holding the rails while stepping into the belt. Do not step onto the belt while it is travelling more than 5km/h!
  • The safety clip must be attached to the front of the exercise clothing while using the treadmill. This will act as an emergency stop should the clip be pulled from the dock.
  • Speed and incline should be increased and decreased gradually to avoid losing control.
  • A safe clearance area around the machine should be maintained. This should include a minimum of 1.5m clearance at the rear of the treadmill.
  • Only store drink bottles in the correct holders.
  • Do not use the heart rate electrodes if you have an internal pacemaker or defibrillator.
